Mercs, Wheats and a Token...

Post by GonehuntingForHistory on Sun Feb 12, 2012 12:33 am

DpDave and I have hunted the last couple of days.. First we headed out to Lake Texoma. He ended up with a 1926 merc and two wheats.. I brought home this 1945 S merc..

It was about 8:00 at night and a rain storm was coming so we had to call it quits..
Fast forward to today and we met up again in Durant at a sidewalk tearout. It only produced a wheat, an old Army Badge, and some clad...

The back says Montgomery Ward & Co.
Chicago, Kansas City, Fort Worth, Texas, Portland, ORE.
then in small print it says: BASTIAN BROS. CO. ROCHESTER . NY.

We moved over to another sidewalk and I found this cool Compact lid.. Unfortunately the back was missing but I did find printed letters on the rim "PIERRETTE" It also had this intricate etching of a woman in a large dress.

Had a blast but dang it was frickin cold...
We then moved to a older home that had been demolished. I found two more wheats.. a 1919 and a 1913 that was heavily corroded.

I then found my first rabies tag of the year..

and a final wheat and a small buckle that has "pat 5-17-18"
The best find of the day was his with his first Indian Territory Token.. It was from the Durant Canning company.. Hopefully he will post a pic soon..
Here is the final total pic...
