New button for me

I got back to the relics today with Tinthumb and Gman, and found a button like I have never found before. We found a new spot that produced a few good finds and as many square nails as we wanted to dig.

Awesome find Bags..you can thank Daniel in Alaska for that too... thats about 60 years before Statehood.. I sure wished when we found stuff like that it come with small written account on how it got there...

Love the button Bago. I had a feeling that it was older than the ones we usually find. It has to be the oldest thing we've found yet. What do you think?

I guess I should have posted the nails to, 13 and the 4 pieces came out of one hole. I scanned and they were still hitting at 3 feet away since it was getting dark I moved on and found the button.



The bullet is really white more than the pic shows just dosent look period to me because of the crimp look in the groves. Any thoughts?

the bullet looks modern and you just keep digging them nails dude, something else good is gonna pop up sooner or later.

Thanks for the ID on the button Daniel, I am gonna clean out that patch of nails next time I am there. We are going to try and clean out the whole area, to much potential not to.

Get out your rare earth magnet.

We talked about making a sled for the plowed areas. Anyone here ever used one. I have several rare earth magnets some 65lb and 94lb pull.

your right about the potential, and yes on the magnets. just make sure you wrap them with rags so when you take the rags off the magnet stays clean and you dont have any crap stuck to it.
I had a friend that took a bigwheels axle off his kids bigwheel and mounted it on a two by four and the magnet on the bottom of it and he pulled that around and it was easy since it was on wheels.
I have a perfect site for a set up like that but havent done it.

LOL! nice.Ive got ideas and the wife thinks Im crazy. I cant really mow grass cause of my back so one day while mowing I started to hurt, so I got this Idea and bungee corded and tied my mower to the front of my Quad and voila I have a riding lawnmower, till the wife came home and told me to stop that crazyness, and took it from me.
